Synthesis and Characterization of PEG-Polyurethane for Biomedical Applications

Poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG)-Polyurethane polymers are currently being investigated for biomedical applications such as tissue regeneration, heart applications, and wound healing. Improving the overall properties of PEG-Polyurethane can address a variety of clinical needs. The focus of this research is to optimize the overall properties of PEG-Polyurethane for regeneration by looking at structure, molecular weight (MW), and the swelling/degradation mechanics. Polymers were constructed based on different synthesis conditions and characterized to evaluate molecular weight and structure.
