IoT and Robotics in Pet Care

Obesity amongst pets is on the rise. According to CBS News, approximately 58% of all housecats are either overweight or obese. The researcher is aiming to tackle this problem of cat obesity by helping cats exercise. Cats being natural hunters, prefer to chase animals that they prey on. The researchers are currently building a small robot that can move around indoors like a small animal so that the cat can chase it. Future research would be required, with the help of veterinarians and biologists, in making the robot more attractive to cats.
