High Speed 3D Printing of Portable Microscope Lens via Micro-Continuous Liquid Interface Printing
The aim of this research is to be able to 3D-print an optical lens via micro-Continuous Liquid Interface Printing (µCLIP). Manufacturing lenses right now is a lengthy process, it takes weeks to have a final product with a smooth finish. A photosensitive resin with 1,6-Hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) as the monomer, Irgacure 819 as the photo-initiator and Tinuvin as the photo-stabilizer has been used as the material to 3D-print the aspherical lenses. The researcher has found that the surface texture of the 3D-printed lenses has not been optimal and is looking for ways to overcome this.
