Effect of Growth-Feedback on Adaptive Synthetic Gene Circuits

Synthetic gene circuits are designed with different network topologies to give cells specific functions. These functions are affected by circuit-host interactions such as resource competition, cell growth-mediated feedback, and metabolic burden, possibly giving the circuit new properties. Using computational modeling and experimental verification, 3-node network topologies capable of adaptation were analyzed to observe the effects of growth-mediated feedback. Analysis of these topologies will allow for more robust gene circuit designs and create methods for which other topologies can be verified under circuit-host interactions.
