Designing a Low-Cost and Power-Efficient DC-Biasing System for Reconfigurable Reflective Surfaces in the Terahertz Spectrum
The motivation behind the group’s research is to fabricate the physical structures for implementing a new type of frontier in wireless sensing and communication. To achieve this, a rugged yet easy-to-implement system to bias the antenna correctly is needed for reliable transmission of information. This build was specifically fabricated for a 160-element reflectarray antenna, but the whole design can be scaled to larger systems due to the simplicity of the layout, component choice, and quick turn-around fabrication time. Establishing an effective, low-cost DC biasing circuit for wireless communication systems is critical to ensure signal integrity and security for all end users.
