3D Printing of Iron Oxide Based Anode with Bioinspired Structures for Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries (LIB) have become an ideal power source for electronic devices due to their high energy density and recharge capability. Conventional fabrication methods of LIBs anodes encounter a bottleneck in controlling geometric morphologies of microstructures, and such limitation causes low energy densities and converting efficiencies. This proposed research is motivated to address the current manufacturing challenge of LIBs anodes by developing a novel 3D printing approach. In this summer, a magnetically assisted 3D projection based-stereolithography (MF-SLA) was successfully constructed to provide a rapid fabrication tool to build the LIB anode with bioinspired architectures.
