Sui Yang is an assistant professor in Materials Science and Engineering in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy (SEMTE) at Arizona State University. He obtained his PhD in Applied Science and Engineering (Major: Materials Science and Engineering) at the University of California, Berkeley working with Professor Xiang Zhang where he also completed his postdoctoral study. Prior to his appointment at ASU, he worked as a research scientist and manager at the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) at the University of California, Berkeley. His current research centers on light-matter interactions bridging materials science, nanoscience, optical physics and engineering. His research has been published in journals such as Nature, Science and Nature Nanotechnology, receiving wide media coverage from Nature.com, Science News, Scientific American, Physics World, Phys.Org, R&D Magazine, Photonics World, and various other media sources.
